Every week we’re spotlighting a program from around Pike County for our Team of the Week, presented by Casey Carter, Farm Bureau Insurance.

Be honest, did you know that there was a varsity bowling team in Southwest Mississippi?

The only MHSAA bowling program around these parts is fielded at North Pike High School and the Rolling Jags are coached by Trey Lindsey.

Girls team members of the North Pike bowling squad include, from left, Shayna Corssley, Diamond Crossley, Sylvia Vine, Alyssa Vanegas, Stormie Thames, Adley Ready and Katy McConnell.

Boys team members of the North Pike bowling program include, from left, Logan McGehee, Jackson Wells, Brenna Boleware, Dawson Bigner, Grayson Reeves, and Bryder Weber.

Lindsey has been coaching the team for three seasons after taking over upon the retirement of former coach Paul Watkins.

Seniors Alyssa Vanegas and Sylvia Vine are the top bowlers for the girls’ team. Juniors Dawson Bigner and Grayson Reeves are among the top scorers on the boys’ team at NP.

North Pike is competing in the bowling postseason this week.

The boys’ team will bowl in the regional championship meet on Wednesday at Park 10 Lanes in Diamondhead. The girls’ team will then return to Park 10 Lanes on Friday for their regional meet.
