A trio of juniors paced the Parklane Pioneers on Tuesday in a 63-40 win over Brookhaven Academy.
PA got a game high 22 points from junior forward Logan Dier along with 13 points from Davis Carruth and 11 points from Drake Hughes.

Midway through the fourth quarter Dier drove the lane and rose up for an emphatic slam as the Cougar defenders did not realize he had that kind of bounce.
He’d later add another dunk later in the quarter on a breakaway.
Dier stands 6-foo-5 and he’s part of a PA front court that has size along with Wick Lindsey, James Hollis Smith, and Joseph Dickerson.
Carruth stands 6-foot-3 and brings the physicality of a standout football player to the basketball court as a guard. Hughes knocked down 3-pointers from the corner with the confidence of a guy who’s put up a ton of shots on those goals in his career.
Tyler Smith added eight points for the Pioneers while Lindsey scored six points and and Dickerson and Landon Johnson scored two points each for PA.

Carter “Bubba” Coleman led Brookhaven Academy with 15 points in the loss. Senior post players Madden Coleman and Carson Mowdy each scored nine points for the Cougars and coach Josh Watts. Carter Evans and Talon Welch rounded out the BA scoring with five points each.

The win stakes Parklane to third place in MAIS District 3-4A behind a very good Simpson County Academy team and a Madison-Ridgeland Academy squad that is among the best in the state, regardless of association or class.

PA and coach Alex Ainsworth will host those mighty MRA Patriots on Friday in McComb

Brookhaven Academy will look to snap a three-game skid when they travel to Park Place Christian Academy in Pearl on Friday in another district game.
